Saltwater Crocodile
The ranking opens with the largest reptile in the world. This fierce crocodile weighs an average of 600 kg and can reach 7 meters in length! (Source: Focus)

Gaur (Bos gaurus)
The gaur is a wild bovine widespread in India, Indochina and Burma that weighs about 850 kg.

Wild water buffalo
This other characteristically horned bovine also lives in Asia and is quite heavy: 980 kg on average.

Black Rhinoceros
Big, massive and with a horn that is anything but friendly. Yet the black rhinoceros is not aggressive unless provoked. Otherwise, the provoker would be charged by a 1.15-ton behemoth!
Giraffe
To look at it, slender and long-limbed you wouldn't think so, but the giraffe is a very heavy animal: it weighs a whopping 1.25 tons on average!

Walrus
In water he moves easily, but on land he is decidedly clumsy, mainly because of the mass of fat enveloping his body, which in fact weighs about 1.6 tons.

Hippopotamus
The hippo is not only one of the heaviest animals (2.3 tons), but it also possesses a most dangerous bite, even more so than that of its habitat "neighbor," the crocodile.

White Rhinoceros
This endangered species (Ceratotherium simum) is definitely heavy. An average specimen weighs 2.5 tons.

Asian elephant
